# Staking AUTO

**Token update:**

{% hint style="info" %}
Tokemak’s legacy **TOKE** token has migrated to **AUTO**. Where older materials mention TOKE or sTOKE, the current equivalents are **AUTO** and **sAUTO**. Migration from TOKE to AUTO is available 1:1 through the official Auto Finance app [here](https://app.auto.finance/auto), and AUTO staking now uses a single 16-week lock in **sAUTO**. Some legacy reward references may still appear temporarily during the transition.

#### Migration note

* **TOKE → AUTO** migrates at **1:1**
* **sTOKE / accTOKE → sAUTO** migrate at **1:1**
  {% endhint %}

### Introduction

The sAUTO system is Auto Finance's staking mechanism that enables active ecosystem participation. By staking AUTO, users receive credits that they can allocate to different Autopools. This allocation provides access to both reward streams and, when available, additional incentives specific to each Autopool.

## Staking Mechanism

### Staking AUTO

AUTO staking is the current staking system for the protocol.

When you stake **AUTO**, you receive **sAUTO**, which represents your staked position. AUTO staking is designed to keep the experience simple: users stake into a single system, follow one standard lock structure, and participate in protocol-aligned rewards through the current reward model.

#### How it works

* Stake **AUTO** through the app
* Receive **sAUTO**
* Remain staked through the current **16-week** staking structure
* Earn rewards based on the current staking and protocol revenue model

#### FAQs

* **What do I receive when I stake AUTO?** You receive **sAUTO**.
* **How long is the staking period?** The current staking model uses a **16-week lock**.
* **Can I still migrate TOKE?** Yes. Legacy TOKE can still be migrated to AUTO 1:1.
* **Do I still direct rewards to specific Autopools?** No. The current system uses a simplified reward structure.
